The Rawalpindi Ring Road is one of the reasons so many housing projects have appeared near Thalian. Faisal Town Phase 2 is among them, so it is worth understanding what the road is and where things stand.
What the Ring Road is
The Ring Road is a new high-speed road around the eastern and southern side of Rawalpindi, running from the GT Road at Banth to the M-2 Motorway at Thalian. It is designed to take through traffic out of the city and to link the GT Road, the M-2 and the area around Islamabad International Airport more directly.
Where it stands in 2026
In September 2026 the Express Tribune reported that the road was opening to traffic and that its total cost had risen to about Rs535 billion, while the Thalian interchange itself was still roughly 10% incomplete (Express Tribune). Until the interchange is finished, the most convenient routes to projects at Thalian may change, so check before you travel.
What it changes for Faisal Town Phase 2
- Access: a direct high-speed link towards Rawalpindi's eastern side and the GT Road, in addition to the M-2.
- Airport: Islamabad International Airport is roughly 8 km from Thalian Interchange.
- Visibility: sites near major junctions tend to attract commercial interest over time.
What it does not change
A new road does not change a project's approval status, the pace of its internal development, or when you can build on your plot. It also does not guarantee a rise in plot values; prices depend on many factors, including the number of competing projects along the same corridor.
How to judge infrastructure claims
Treat statements such as "two minutes from the airport" with care and check them on a map yourself. Measure from your actual plot, not the project's front gate. Our location page gives approximate distances measured from Thalian Interchange.
